Storage and custody of chemicals
The author：
1. All containers of chemicals should be clearly and permanently labeled to indicate their contents and potential hazards.
2. All chemicals should have a Material safety data list.
3. Familiarize yourself with the characteristics and potential hazards of the chemicals used.
4. Special marks should be added for chemicals that are unstable or prone to peroxide formation during storage.
5. Chemicals should be stored at a suitable height and no chemicals should be stored in the fume hood.
6. Containers containing corrosive liquids should be stored as low as possible and equipped with a collection plate to prevent spills from causing safety accidents.
7. Store unstable chemicals separately and label them with the date of purchase. Store drugs and reagents that are likely to have chemical reactions separately to prevent them from interacting with each other to produce toxic fumes, fires, or even explosions.
8. Volatile and toxic substances require special storage conditions and highly toxic drugs cannot be stored in laboratories without permission.
9. Do not store a large amount of flammable solvent in the laboratory. Unused whole bottles of reagents must be placed away from light and heat sources.
10. When handling hazardous chemicals, wear overalls, protective goggles, closed-toe shoes, and long hair tied up.
11. Corrosive chemicals, toxic chemicals, organic peroxides, combustibles and radioactive substances, especially bleach, nitric acid, perchloric acid and hydrogen peroxide, shall not be kept together.
